Cau Ysgolion

Mae’n drist clywed bod cyngor RCT oherwydd torriadau yn bwriadu cau nifer o ysgolion, Mae’r cynllun yn mynd orfodi plant oedran gynradd i deithio milltiroedd a chael eu haddysg mewn ysgolion mwy. Mae hyn yn mynd i effeithio yn enwedig ar Addysg Gymraeg gyda llawer o rienu yn methu gwneud y daith gyda’i plant. Cafwyd daith gerdded i ddangos y pellter y bydd raid i’r plant fynd.

Sad to hear that RCT council because of cuts is planning to close a number of schools and force small children to travel miles to have their education in super-schools. This particularly affects Welsh Education with many parents unable to make the journey to another Welsh Medium School. A protest walk was made to raise awareness and show the distance children would have to travel.

Canolfanau Dyddiol a Chartrefu Henoed

Ar ben hynny mae nifer o Ganolfannau Dyddiol a naw allan o unarddeg Cartref Henoed dan fygythiad o gau er mwyn arbed arian. Mae grwp wedi cychwyn sy’n ceisio gwrthwynebu y polisi ac yn creu deiseb. Dyma Tudalen Facebook am fwy o wybodaeth.

On top of this a number of Day Centres and nine out of eleven Care Homes are under threat of closure in order to save money. A group has been set up to fight these closures. For more information see the Facebook Page

Y Miwni

Newyddion trist bod y Miwni, Pontypridd wedi cau ychydig cyn y Nadolig. Dyma’r ail dro i hyn ddigwydd. Yn 2014 gwnaeth cyngor RCT penderfynu na fedran nhw cynnal y lle dim mwy. 11 mis yn ddiweddarach gwnaeth consortiwm preifat, cyhoeddus ac elusenol cymeryd y lle drosodd ac yn cael ei redeg ar y cyd rhwng aelodau’r bwrdd, staff a gwirfoddolwyr. Mae’n ganolfan bwysig i ddiwylliant yr ardal gan gyflwyno sioiau cerddorol, theatr a rhai grwpiau enwog wedi chwarae yno. Ond yn anffodus mae’r problemau ariannol wedi gwaethygu yn ddiweddar.

Mae grwp wedi ei sefydlu i ymgyrchu i achub y ganolfan. Achub Canofan Celfyddydol y Miwni ac rydym yn annog pawb i gefnogi.

Sad news that the Muni, Pontypridd has closed it’s doors just before Christmas. This is the second time this has happened. In 2014 RCT council decided they couldn’t finance the venue anymore. 11 months later a private, public and charitable consortium was formed and it was run by members of the board, staff and volunteers. It is an important cultural centre in the area and has held musicals, theatre and concerts including some quite famous bands. Unfortunately the financial woes have increased recently.

A group has been set up to try and save the centre. Save the Muni Arts Centre and we urge everyone to support.

Graigwen

Newyddion ardderchog. Ffeindiodd trigolion Graigwen i buddsoddwr i rhoi bid llwyddianus am y goedwig. Nawr fe fydd y pwyllgor Cyfeillion Coedwig Graigwen yn dod at ei gilydd i godi arian ar gyfer prynu y goedwig oddiar y buddsoddwr.

Great news. Graigwen residents were able to find a sympathetic investor who managed to make a successful bid for the forest. Now the committee for the Friends of Graigwen Woods will get together to decide the best way to raise the necessary funding to buy the forest back from the investor.

Y mae nifer o drigolion yn dod at ei gilydd i brynu Coedwig Graigwen fel ased cymunedol. Mae’r goedwig wedi bod ar werth nifer o weithiau ar hyd y blynyddoedd ac bob tro mae hyn yn digwydd mae yna berygl i’r tir gael ei ddefnyddio i ddatblygu tai. I atal hyn mae’r trigolion lleol wedi cofrestri nifer o lwybrau cyhoeddus a rhoi gorchymyn cadwraeth ar y coed. Ond y tro hyn gobeithir codi digon o arian i fedri rhoi bid i mewn i’r ocsiwn.

A number of residents have come together with the aim of buying Graigwen Fforest as a community asset. The forest has gone on sale a few times over the years and every time this happens there is a danger that the land will be used for house or other development. To try and impede this they have registered a number of public footpaths and put a preservation orders on some of the trees. However this time when the land goes to auction we hope to raise enough funds to place a bid.

Dosbarthwyd nifer o daflennu Diem25 yn Gymraeg a Saesneg ym Mhontypridd yn ystod gwyl Parti Ponty. Rhoddwyd taflennu yn rhai shopau ac yng Nglwb y Bont. Cafwyd ymateb cardarnhaol gan nifer o bobl.

Leaflets where distributed in Pontypridd (both English and Welsh) during the Parti Ponty festival. We left leaflets in a number of shops and in Clwb y Bont social club. We had a positive response from many people.
